Book
By some freak incident a time portal from the future has opened and through it a book has come through. The book is entitled "Me" by [insert your name here]. The blurb says that it is your autobiography documenting everything that has happened in your life, like who you married, if you have kids, what your career is, what you had for dinner on 6th June 2024, even how you died (any of you thinking of asking how an autobiography could contain details of your death, work with me here, this book has just come through a TIME PORTAL).
The question is this: Would you read it? And why?

errrm i would probably read it because i wud be way to curious to resist and also knowing whats gona happen wud prob make m less nervous and worried about the future even though wat is in the book wont necessarily come true and if there was something in the book i didnt want to happen i could stop it from happening. And it could be likein big fish the guy new how he was gona die so he wasnt scared of doing other stuff
i bet that dont make sense
Hmm.
If what was in the book was definitely going to happen then that would mean that fate was completely in control and that no matter what you did with your life you had no real influence (for that matter, you couldnt do anything other than what fate allowed). The path you tread has already been decided for you. In which case, knowing what would happen would take the fun out of life. So, no, i wouldnt read it.
Then, if the book held only a possible future then i doubt i could curb my curiosity; i would read it just to see what my life might turn out to be, that way i could tweak it to make it better. Though that would also be a problem i think, if i was expecting someone i care for to die on one day and they didnt, would i spend the rest of my life wondering, 'will this be the day?'
I think right now when i think about it i would say no either way yet how could i know unless it actually happened?
I would give the book to Matt and ask him to burn it for me, for i know i would not be able to resist the temptation.
I wouldnt want to read it because it would take all the flavour out of life, all the excitement of the unknown and if i read it i would probably disagree with it and then curse myself for not changing it when i had the chance when it came true.
Knowledge of the future is dangerous, it can change who you are and how you behave. My dad forbids me to read tarot because he said that the future is never certain but if you read something(in the deck) and convince yourself it is true it will become true.
All in all..no i wouldnt read it.
I'd read it and do the exact opposite of what it says just to spite it! :D
Then the book wouldn't exist. :o
i would only read the chapters 'marriage' and the very first bit of 'kids'. i wouldn't read the rest as at this moment im not too bothered which way they go
