Am i the only one who would supposedly question the use of a scientist's name suggesting a feast/gathering/celebration in his honour instead of the remeberance of the coming of the messiah? Or is it just me?
newton, born 25th december by the julian calendar, is a dude that took off what the ancient greeks were doing so well by making sense of the universe through observation. and lo he gave us the three commandments of mechanics, co-invented calculus and even pressed a spatula against the back of his eye ball while investigating the properties of light. im not certain what the dictionary deffinition of 'messiah' is, but im sure newtons role in science would come close to it.
