Catholicism: don't knock it till you've tried it.....

KNOCK KNOCK!!!!!!
Well, i went to a mass today, it was SO weird. I considered it research for my course and such, and well, i don't want to be mean because i don't really understand it all, but well it seemed very "religious" (therefore not my thing!) *strangely the computer is running rather slowly so i think the college is monitoring me, oooh dear, they'll send the spainish inquisition after me; who nobody ever notices!* Have you ever been to one of these things? its all very structured, and liturgical (thats the idea i suppose) all sitting down, standing, kneeling, more standing, repetition, lots of crossing. then there's the eucharist, i was going to ask the priest afterwards what he actually did to make the bread and wine, transubstantiate, it seemed to me like he just waved it around a bit, bowed a couple of times, slightly comically, very fast and hard, must have hurt his knees! Well, i suppose for some of the people there it really did mean something, they took it very seriously,it was the priest who seemed to just be doing it probably for the 1000 time this week, it was as if he just wanted to get it over and done with; "May the graceofourLordJesuschrist and the LoveofGodandthefellowshipofthe holy spirit...." i don't know, it seems that they can grasp the idea of an Awesome God, but who seems rather transcendant, almost too distant. I'm not trying to make fun, i just don't understand. I guess each to his own, i'll just stick to mine thank you very much!

Someone briefly explained to me the differences between, catholics, anglicans, and baptists, it was summarised thus: Catholics say no, anglicans aren't sure, and baptists vote on it! ; p
