ʎ said...: earth gets blown up, one man survives and he and his friend (who he has recently discovered to be an alien) stowaway on one of the space ships that blew up the earth. but they are found and chucked out the air lock, luckily they are picked up by the president of the galaxy (who is a lunatic) and go find a planet that has passed into legend. after that various different things happen depending on whether you read the book, watch the tv program or listen to the original radio series. but since this is the film there will probably be slight changes again
