New Year, New Challenge...
I'm hijacking 18 (pretty much the same post is on my own blog too!)
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So a few people already know I'm taking part in Trailwalker this year. It involves walking 100km (62.14 miles for all you miles not kilometres people - myself included!) in under 30 hours. It follows the South Downs Way from Petersfield to Brighton and takes place on the 19th-20th July 2008.
So it can almost be my new year resolution - training so that I can actually complete it!
Anyways, it's organised by Oxfam and the Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Our fundraising target is £1,500 - ARGH!!! A lot of money. Which is kind of why I'm posting. If you want to sponsor me that would be very awesome :-) There's no need to do it now, you could do it nearer the time. And we have a fundraising page so you can donate online (and leave me a cool message!) or we have regular sponsorship forms too.
The fundraising page is here:
http://www.justgiving.com/teamaching
Also we have a blog:
http://team-aching-news.blogspot.com/
...which I would love for people to read and comment on! It will be updated (and hopefully not just by me!) from now until we complete Trailwalker and then I'm sure some posts afterwards with how it all goes (and pictures!). More incentive to check out the blog - there are already embarrassing photos of me up there that you can all laugh at!!
So our team is called Team Aching (I didn't have a say in the name, but I like it! Oh, and if you say it fast it sounds like tea making!) and consists of myself, my sister and two other people from Bristol - Jenni and Andy.
Um, oh yeah, we have set up a Facebook group (because, well, why not? everyone has a Facebook group now!!!) and you will all be invited to join shortly. Please join it!! It's cool to be able to see everyone's supporters all in one place. Not quite sure if much will happen with the group yet - pictures I'm sure at some point. But the bigger the group the better :-) I'm just waiting on a picture for the group which my sister is currently concocting and then you will all be invited!!
Anyways that's all I'm going to say on here. There is tons more info on the other blog already if you want to know more about it!
Thank you!
End of hijacking!
